Veteran Director-Actor Lekh Tandon Is No More
Director-actor Lekh Tandon breathed his last at his Powai home this evening. He was 88
Lekh Tandon, the filmmaker who directed Shah Rukh Khan in his early television
appearances and then shared the screen with him in films like Swades and
Chennai Express, is no more. He was 88.

away this evening at his Powai home.

The filmmaker had
won a Filmfare Best Screenplay Award for his 1978 movie Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man
Bhaye and had directed many television serials as well.
Lekh Tandon was
among the first people to support superstar Shah Rukh and he had signed him up
for television serials like Dil Darya and Doosra Kewal.
Filmmaker Ashoke
Pandit took to Twitter just moments ago to offer his condolences to Lekh
Tandon’s family.

Tandon’s
filmography comprises Professor (1962), Amrapali (1966), Do Rahain, Uttarayan,
to name a few.
He has also acted
in movies including Swades, Paheli, Rang de Basanti and Chennai Express.
